Wisdom Calls Out
“Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?”Proverbs 8:1 (KJV)
In Proverbs, wisdom isn’t a dusty idea. She speaks. “Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?” Wisdom stands at the crossroads and calls out to anyone who will listen.
And she makes a stunning promise: “For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.” Finding wisdom is finding life itself.
Paul tells us where that wisdom is finally found. To those who are called, he preaches “Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.” And he says Christ “of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.”
Many readers have seen wisdom in Proverbs as a picture pointing to Christ. Whoever finds him finds life. Wisdom isn’t a technique you master. It is a person you know. When you need wisdom today, don’t just look for advice. Look to Jesus.
