15And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times.Joshua 6:15

The text never says thirteen. It gives you once a day for six days, then seven times on the seventh. The sum is yours to make.

“Fear not” is in the Bible 365 times, once for every day.

The phrase “fear not” appears 63 times in the KJV. Add “be not afraid,” “fear ye not” and “fear thou not,” and it still comes nowhere near 365.

Three wise men came to see Jesus.

Matthew never says how many came. He names three gifts: gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

Eve ate an apple in the garden.

Genesis never says apple. It calls it the fruit, and the word “apple” doesn't appear anywhere in Genesis.

“Money is the root of all evil.”

      The Second Time

“And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying, Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.”Jonah 3:1–2

The first time, Jonah ran. God said go east to Nineveh, and Jonah “rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD.” He paid his own fare to get away. Then comes a verse that is easy to read past: the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time. Same man. Same city. Same call.

      1. Every quote, matched word for word

Each verse on this site and in the app is checked against the King James text before it's published.

      2. Every number, counted by script

Counts like “fear not, 63 times” come from running the text, not from memory or a quote from somewhere else.

      3. Mistakes don't make it in

When a teacher's claim doesn't match the text, it's corrected or left out. Popular errors become “Myths, counted.”
