Where Training Stops Serving Anyone
“Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.”Philippians 4:5 (KJV)
There is a point in training where the extra pounds on the bar or seconds off the mile stop doing anything for your family. Being strong enough to carry your kids, healthy enough to serve, capable enough to keep up: those serve others. Past a certain point, more only serves you.
That isn’t wrong in itself. But it is worth knowing where your line is. Decide what healthy and capable looks like for your life, and then be honest about why you keep pushing past it.
Paul wrote, “Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.” Moderation isn’t laziness. It is knowing when enough is enough, because something better is close.
And he gave the rule for everything we do with our bodies: “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” Train for his glory. That will usually mean training for the people he gave you too.

Read 1 Corinthians 10:23–33. Whose good does Paul say we should seek?
Who does your training actually serve right now?
Lord, let my body serve you and the people you gave me. Teach me where enough is. Amen.
