Seasons, Not Abandonment
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)
Life with small children rearranges everything. The long workouts shrink to thirty minutes. Date nights get harder to plan. Friendships go quiet. Even time alone with God might happen in five-minute pieces while someone naps.
That is not failure. It is a season. “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Some seasons give one area of life the biggest share of your time, and that is right.
The danger is letting a season become an excuse to abandon something completely. A smaller share isn’t the same as no share. Thirty minutes of exercise still counts. A short prayer still counts. A walk with your spouse after the kids are in bed still counts.
Keep every important area alive, even when one gets the larger share for a while. Seasons change. When this one does, you want the other things still there, waiting to grow again.

Which important area of your life has gone from a small share to no share in this season?
Lord, help me live well in this season. Keep the important things alive in me, even when they get less time. Amen.
