Culture by Design
“In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,”Titus 2:7 (KJV)
Every workplace, team and family has a culture. The only question is whether it was built on purpose or just happened. Left alone, culture drifts toward whatever is easiest.
Leaders set it more than they realize. Not mainly by speeches, but by what they do, what they tolerate and what they celebrate. A culture can take years to build and one careless moment to break.
Paul told Titus how to lead: “In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity.” And he wasn’t afraid to say, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”
Whether you lead a company, a classroom or a home, you are shaping a culture. Ask what kind people learn from watching you. Then be the pattern you want them to follow, because they are following it already.
Read it yourself
Read Titus 2:1–8. What does Paul want the opponents to have no evil thing to say about?
What culture are you shaping by default at work or at home?
Lord, help me lead by example. Let the people around me see a pattern worth following, because I am following you. Amen.
