Afraid of Being Seen
“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”Proverbs 29:25 (KJV)
Picture someone who wants to share what they’re learning but is terrified of what people will think. Every post, every conversation, every new attempt gets filtered through one fear: how will this look?
Sometimes the only way through is to do something so ordinary, or so odd, that you stop caring about the stares. Showing up again and again, until the fear of being seen loses its grip.
Scripture names that fear plainly: “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.” Paul knew he had to choose: “for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
The fear of being judged keeps a lot of good from happening. Your workout, your witness, your new start all look clumsy at first. Do them anyway, for an audience of one.
Read it yourself
Read Galatians 1:10–12. Where does Paul say he received the gospel he preached?
What would you do differently if you weren’t afraid of what people would think?
Lord, free me from the fear of man. Let me live for you alone. Amen.
