What Fear Is Costing You
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”1 John 4:18 (KJV)
Fear rarely looks like fear. It looks like waiting for the other person to apologise first. It looks like holding back affection so you won’t be rejected. It looks like needing the right car or title to feel significant.
All of those have a cost. The apology that never comes. The love that never gets said. The years spent proving yourself.
John says, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment.” Fear and love pull in opposite directions. The more you know you are loved by God, the less room fear has to run your choices.
Paul told Timothy, “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” So pick one place where fear has been making the decisions. Love first. Apologise first. Let go of one thing you were holding to look important. It will feel risky. Do it anyway.

Where is fear making your decisions right now?
Father, your love casts out fear. Give me courage to love first this week. Amen.
